Montgomery County established the Parks Department in 1939, and in 2005 the Department of Parks and the Department of History and Cultural Arts merged into a single department; the Department of Parks & Heritage Services (PHS).
Each park offers unique opportunities to enjoy your favorite recreational activity, participate in environmental programs and attend events. There are opportunities to walk, bike, and fish, and to enjoy wildlife, trees, open fields and wonderful creek and river frontage.
