Rules
No person shall possess, consume, sell, purchase, distribute or transport alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or controlled substance upon Park or Historic Site property.
No person shall possess or transport fireworks, firearms, BB guns, bows/arrows, and pellet guns, air guns on site property. In addition to its ordinary meaning, firearms shall include BB guns, bows and arrows, pellet guns, air guns, paintball guns or slingshots on Park and Historic Site property. (Except under special conditions established by the Department of Parks and Heritage Services)
Pets are prohibited except in designated areas of specified County Park and Historic Site facilities. Where they are permitted, pets must be on a leash not exceeding six feet in length, and must be attended to at all times by the owner. Pet owners must clean up after their pets. Littering is prohibited. All refuse, trash and rubbish shall be removed from the Park or Historic Site or placed in trash receptacles. Dumping of grass, clippings, leaves, branches, and other landscape materials is prohibited.
No person shall engage in unruly, indecent, boisterous, or disorderly conduct
Fires prohibited except in fireplaces or other designated areas. All fires must be extinguished prior to leaving the designated area.
Picnic facilities (pavilions, tables, grills) may require advance reservations, and all persons must make such reservations when required. (Contact the Park or Historic Site office for more information)
Parking motor vehicles in other than areas designated for parking is prohibited. Operating a motor vehicle on a Park or Historic Site road in a negligent or reckless manner, or in excess of the posted speed limit is prohibited.
The operation of Motorized Recreational Vehicles, including ATV’s, snowmobiles, trail bikes and mini-bikes on Park or Historic Site property is prohibited.
Hunting and trapping on Park or Historic Site property is prohibited, except under special conditions established by the Department of Parks and Heritage Services. Feeding, disturbing or harassing any wildlife on Park or Historic Site property is prohibited.
No person shall release or abandon wild or domestic animals, non-native fish, or aquatic life on any Parklands or Park waters or Historic Site lands or waters.
No person shall deface, damage or remove any Park or Historic Site property, including any vegetation growing on Parklands or Historic Site lands.
Fishing and boating are prohibited except in designated areas of specified County Park or Historic Site facilities. (Contact the Park or Historic Site office for more information) All Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Laws apply.
Swimming is prohibited in all County Parks and Historic Sites, except as may be designated in areas of specified County Parks and Historic Site facilities. (Contact the Park or Historic Site offices for more information)
Ice Skating and Ice Fishing are prohibited except in designated areas of specified County Park or Historic Site facilities. (Contact the Park or Historic Site office for more information)
Horseback riding, bicycling, roller-blading and roller-skating are prohibited except in areas of specified County Park or Historic Site facilities. (Contact the Park or Historic Site office for more information)
Overnight camping for the general public is prohibited except at Green Lane Park. (Contact the Park office for more information)
Metal detectors are prohibited.
The posting of signs, the distributing, selling, servicing or renting of any supplies, equipment, material or commodity, or soliciting for any purpose without the written authorization from the Department of Parks and Heritage Services is prohibited.
No person shall enter or remain in a County Park or Historic Site other than during the time period for which the Park or Historic Site is posted as being open to the public.
Special events in County Parks are permitted only if approval has been granted under a Special Use Permit. Permit applications may be obtained at the Park office.
Enforcement:
The foregoing Rules and Regulations shall be enforced by Montgomery County Park Rangers or by Historic Site staff utilizing Ordinance #02-01.
Penalties:
Any person(s) who violates any of the foregoing Rules and Regulations shall be guilty of a Summary Offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding $300.00 or not more than 90 days, or both.
