Driving Directions

The Schuylkill River in Upper Providence Township forms a natural backdrop to this 15-acre display of wild animals and raptors indigenous to Pennsylvania. Picnicking and fishing are popular along the river, and a short, scenic hike will lead you to the Schuylkill Canal Park in Mont Clare.

DID YOU KNOW?  In one visit to the Park’s Wildlife Center you can see foxes, rabbits, a bald eagle, many varieties of owls, hawks, turkeys and an assortment of farm animals.  A seasonal butterfly garden and turtle pond will delight all ages.  While a newly opened permanent exhibit entitled, Schuylkill Wilds features creatures found in and around the Schuylkill River. Turtles, frogs, fish, snakes, a skunk and a mink are viewable throughout this indoor space. The site continues to improve and develop, so stay tuned as new exhibits and activities are added.  Additionally, we are pleased to announce that deer and wolves will soon be returning to the Park.

Fun events for the family, especially young children, happen throughout the year.  Group tours and field trips are welcomed, but prior arrangements are needed.  Call the office to schedule your group trip.  The site is open from 8:00 am until sunset every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.  Because outside animals are disturbing to our wildlife, please leave your pet at home when you visit the Park.  Service animals are of course welcome.
